Superintendent Blaine Veitch told the Flin Flon School Board last night the text messaging generation is upon us. He says messages from Hapnot School can now be sent directly to your mobile device. Earlier this month in Dauphin 38 band students from grades 8 to 12 participated in the Parkland Norman band event. Guest conductors choose one outstanding student from each junior, intermediate and senior ensemble. Eve Cooper was selected out of 114 junior band members as top musician on percussion and Mykylo Odut was chosen from 75 intermediate students.
Earlier this month auditions were held for the provincial honor band. Four students including Eve Cooper- percussion, Alyssa Richard-trumpet, Jemedie Morris-bass clarinet and Mikylo Odut-flute will meet in Winnipeg on April 30th. Odut also received one of three scholarships to the International Music Camp.
