The Passing of a Noise Bylaw Has Been Delayed

At Tuesday night’s Flin Flon City Council meeting Councilor Skip Martin presented for second reading an amendment to the Trailer Court bylaw that deals with continuing reports of persistent noise in the Trailer Court.  He said not everybody there is concerned about noise but those who are will have a way to have something done about it under the Persistent Noise Rules.

Councilor Bill Hanson opposed the amendment saying the process of filing a complaint is too cumbersome. Councilor Colleen McKee said it’s a good idea but it has to be developed further.  She agreed with Councilor Karen MacKinnon’s earlier objection that it deals only with the Trailer Court where the city is landlord but should be extended to the rest of the city.

The bylaw amendment was tabled for further development.
