At their meeting Tuesday night Flin Flon City Council passed on first reading an amendment to the bylaw to regulate the condition of vacant and derelict buildings and to discourage the boarding of vacant buildings. The amendment notes if you have a vacant or derelict building and are in a situation where a permit is required and has not been obtained or where a fine has been imposed and not paid the cost can be added to your taxes.

Mayor George Fontaine says there are some really run down building and they want to deal with them so pressure is being put on people to either repair or tear down these buildings.  The amendment requires two more readings by Council.
