Creighton and Denare Beach Students are Still Learning

The Saskatchewan government has provided funding to Creighton Community School to host a summer literacy camp for 4 to 12 year olds.

Camp Coordinator Chelsea Veitch says they have a lot of activities taking place.  She explains they usually try and start the day with a welcome circle and talk about how their day is going and introduce each theme for the day and then the kids will have an opportunity to pick from a variety of books and just read to themselves or they read in groups for about half an hour and then they alternate between crafts and physical activity with a little bit of literacy woven in.

The camp runs until August 8th and Veitch says they still have room so you can drop in and register or call her at 204-271-2140.  She says they alternate between the high school student lounge near the gym at Creighton School and the Denare Beach Band Office.
