The Trout Festival got underway last evening with a barbeque and evening of entertainment at Pioneer Square hosted by the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce assisted by the City of Flin Flon, Hudbay and the Trout Festival.

Mayor George Fontaine had praise for Festival President Tim Babcock, his committee and all volunteers echoed by the Chamber’s Dave Kendall, Hudbay’s Brad Lantz, Creighton Mayor Bruce Fidler, the Friendship Center’s Theresa Wride and MC Dianne O’Brien.  Babcock in turn praised those who help out.  He says they’ve got a pretty packed weekend for you noting they’re going to take today off and Friday be back with Main Street days and go from there.  He thanked the volunteers and the committee members who make things happen adding there are a lot of community groups and service clubs who help behind the scene and take different balls and run with them and also thanks to the executive.
