A Woman Was Rescued From A Burning Building

At around 7:00 Tuesday night a member of Deschambault Lake RCMP noticed smoke coming from a nearby residence. Several people outside the residence were waving their arms to get the member’s attention. The residence was on fire and they believed one person was still inside. The member carefully entered the residence, realizing that the back of the home was fully engulfed in flames and there was a significant amount of thick smoke. The member located a woman who was asleep on a couch in the front of the residence. He was able to wake her and get her safely out of the house. The member was then told that there may be children still inside the home. He entered the residence again, but the heat was too intense to search the home. The children were located safely outside the home a short time later.

The residence was completely destroyed.  The RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
