Twenty Minutes Made a Difference in Flin Flon

A city wide clean up called Twenty Minutes of Magic sponsored by Acklands Grainger Friday to clean up our streets was a success.  Organizer Chad Plamondon says this was the best year ever with over a dozen teams out Friday in spite of the snow and the schools went Monday and he was witness to an amazing feat when in little under an hour between Ruth Betts and McIsaac schools they removed 140 bags of litter from our streets.  He says Hapnot Collegiate was involved as well and they had over 50 bags of garbage so overall it was a great year.

Plamondon adds this year the clean up goes up against 18 other northern communities for a five thousand dollar prize from the Manitoba Multi Stewardship Recycling Program and the winner of that will be announced sometime in July.
