A committee formed to look into the feasibility of developing The North Central Canada Center of Arts and Environment in our area continues to receive support.  The Flin Flon Arts Councils Crystal Kolt is a member of the committee and she says they’ve been for quite a few years now looking at how to expand the arts in the northern part of Canada and specifically in our area and this came to them through quite a bit of discussion with many people over the past number of years.  She says they came up with this model which would be a developing art center as well as an academic institution.

Kolt adds they are at the beginning stages of getting funding for a feasibility study and so far have received support from Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach and the Flin Flon Arts Council and will be inviting Cranberry Portage and Snow Lake to join them.
