Special Haircuts Will Be Done in Cranberry Portage Friday

Frontier Collegiate in Cranberry Portage is holding the wrap up of its annual Brave the Shave fundraising event on Friday.  Teacher Bill Taylor explains Brave the Shave is a challenge to schools put on by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.  He says teachers and staff members are to go out and raise money in support of breast cancer research and as a result of raising the money they agree to get their heads shaved and they’re fortunate at the Collegiate to have a cosmetology class where students shave the students and staff member’s hair.

Taylor adds five staff member and around eight students raised just over 2350 dollars making them the top school in the challenge across the province.  MLA Clarence Pettersen has joined the team in fundraising and will have his hair cut on Friday as well.  It winds up with the hair cuts and a Subway lunch at the Collegiate Friday at noon.
